INJURY UPDATE: FLEETWOOD TOWN (A)

18 October 2021

BURTON Albion assistant manager Dino Maamria says there are no new injury concerns ahead of tomorrow night's trip to Fleetwood Town.

The Brewers recorded a 3-2 win at home to Morecambe on Friday, and will now be keeping an eye on the fitness of a few first team players.

And Maamria also confirmed that defender Michael Bostwick is also closing in on a return followinga hamstring injury

“Yes, all fine, although we have to look after Michael Mancienne who has been out for a long time," said Maamria.

"He came back and produced an unbelievable 80 minutes on Friday so we are going to check with that and see how he is physically.

“We have one or two players that we are going to look at, we are going to look at Kane Hemmings and see how fit he is.

"Michael Bostwick could be back - he's back in training and that's great news for us. He's another instrumental player for us."

Maamria went on to say he expects a tough game against Fleetwood tomorrow night but is focused on the performance of his side.

“I’ve seen their last three games - I think they are a good team and Simon Grayson has some good players and they had an impressive performance against Crewe at the weekend,” said Maamria.

“It’s going to be a tough game, no doubt about it, but it’s about what we do, the focus is on us and how we can perform.

“We will learn from the mistakes against Plymouth when we go to Fleetwood. They actually remind me a lot of Plymouth, even though the league table may not suggest that, the way they play is very much similar.

“The lads trained this morning and looked really sharp and were in a positive frame of mind, so this is a game we are looking forward to and hopefully we put in a good performance."
