MATCH PREVIEW: BREWERS V OXFORD

BURTON Albion will be looking to make it three wins on the spin when Oxford United are the visitors to the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday (kick off 3pm).

FORM GUIDE

The Brewers beat Morecambe at home 3-2 last Saturday and then went to Fleetwood and came back with another three points after a 1-0 success. Oxford beat Shrewsbury 2-0 last time out and before that lost 3-1 to Plymouth – their only defeat in the last six games. Oxford eliminated the Brewers from the Carabao Cup this season.

FAMILY ZONE

Families can start their matchday experience 90 minutes before kick off, with activities on the 3G pitch next to the BACT building.

The Family Zone will feature music, lots of games and activities, teas and coffees and on Saturday ahead of the Brewers home game with Oxford, a chance to meet two Brewers first team players – Louis Moult and John Brayford.

Visitors to the Family Zone will be encouraged to grab an ‘honesty flag’ to use during the game to cheer on Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s team which we ask you to return after the match.

The Family Zone will be open from 1.30pm to 2.45pm on Saturday.

It will then take place before every home game, starting 90 minutes before kick off.

GIRLS’ AND WOMEN’S FOOTBALL TAKEOVER

This Saturday, the cover of the Matchday Brewer will be handed over to the women’s first team while inside there will be two player interview features and a look forward to their Vitality Women's FA Cup tie against Mansfield Town, which will be played at Rocester FC on Sunday at 2pm.

The Women and Girls Takeover will also see a number of teams and participants from across Burton Albion Football Club and Burton Albion Community Trust attend the fixture to promote and celebrate their love of the game. 

Burton Albion Women’s Team, along with the Burton Albion girls’ age groups, Mums Play and Over 30s Vets football teams will take part in pre-match and half-time activities. 

It is all part of the club’s campaign to inspire positive change and encourage the further growth of the game which is gaining increasing recognition across the media.
