MANAGER'S REACTION: HASSELBAINK - BOLTON (A)

6 September 2021

JIMMY Floyd Hasselbaink says he was pleased with taking a point following tonight’s 0-0 draw away at Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One.

“It’s one of those, we had to dig in for a long time during the game, but I’m happy with a point and it was hard fought for, said Hasselbaink.

“At times it’s about growing and showing that we dare we can do more. We’ve got a good point and we have to show that we’re ready for the next one. Bolton are a good side and we defended well throughout to deny them.”

New Deadline Day signings Charlie Lakin and Harry Chapman made their Brewers debuts, and Hasselbaink was pleased with what he saw from them.

“I thought their performances were good. Chapman got around 30 minutes and we wanted to give him some time to get used to us and the way we play. Charlie (Lakin) was good and I hope there’s a lot more to come from him.”

The Brewers boss said that his sides attention now turns to Saturday’s home fixture against Gillingham at the Pirelli Stadium, which will also see another Deadline Day signing in Daniel Jebbison join up with his new Brewers teammates.

“You take the point away from home and now we go back to the Pirelli on Saturday and look for a better performance to go one better.

“Daniel Jebbison will join up with the squad this week after being on international duty and we’re looking forward to getting him involved with our setup.”
