INJURY UPDATE: GILLINGHAM (H)

10 September 2021

BURTON Albion have no fresh injury concerns heading into tomorrow's game at home to Gillingham (3pm kick-off).

And manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has confirmed that on-loan Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison is in line to make the squad for our weekend game at the Pirelli Stadium.

The Brewers are currently without Ryan Leak (thigh), Michael Mancienne (hamstring), Deji Oshilaja (ankle) and Jacob Maddox (ankle), while Tom O'Connor's return from a hamstring injury has been delayed after the Irish midfielder tested positive for COVID-19.

Louis Moult (ankle), Kieran Wallace (knee) and Tom Hewlett (leg) remain sidelined with longer-term injuries, while Sam Hughes (knee) is continuing his own rehabilitation ahead of his anticipated return.

"Deji is not ready yet - he trained with the physios today along with Jacob Maddox," said Hasselbaink.

"Tom O'Connor is still at home with COVID - on Sunday he comes out of isolation and he can start training. He was more or less there with his hamstring, but we haven't been able to treat him for 10 days, so his hamstring should be fine but we will have to leave him for one or two days.

"Everybody else is clear (COVID-19) for now.

"Ryan Leak shouldn't be long. Hopefully from Monday or Tuesday he can start training again. It's (an injury) just from fatigue so we need to give him that room.

"Daniel is only 18, let's not forget that, but he has ability. He has been training with a different group - we train a bit more high-intensity. He will be involved."

Danny Rowe could return to the squad, but the Brewers will be without captain John Brayford, who picked up a one-match suspension after receiving two yellow cards in our 0-0 draw at Bolton Wanderers last Monday.
