MANAGER'S PREVIEW | MORECAMBE (A)

2 April 2022

BURTON Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says he has a fully fit squad at his disposal for the side’s trip to Morecambe this afternoon (3pm kick-off).

Since Albion’s last game over two weeks ago, Hasselbaink confirmed in yesterday afternoon's press conference that none of the Brewers team picked up any new injuries during the international break - including those who were away on international duty.

And with a fully fit squad to choose from, Hasselbaink spoke on how he wants his side to finish the season strong and the challenges his side will face with some tough games left before the end of the season.

“There are no new injuries, everybody is fit," confirmed Hasselbaink.

“It will be a learning curve for us (between now and the end of the season), playing against teams that are fighting their hardest for points.

"There will be pressure because it is must win for opponents, but we also want to win.

“These kind of situations are needed for our players and that is the same for (today’s) game.”

There is one crucial aim for the Brewers, Hasselbaink says, going to the Mazuma Stadium this afternoon - picking up a long overdue clean sheet.

And Albion's boss wants his side to get back to that solid defensive footing, one that proved vital in our excellent run at the end of last season and the beginning of this one.

“You can score goals, but knowing you concede a few can become a psychological problem for a team," said Hasselbaink.

“We need to make sure that we can keep a clean sheet. We need a clean sheet, we are overdue one and I am confident with one, we can go on and win the game.”

“Clean sheets need to become a part of our game again.

"We need to look at ourselves before we look at our opponents, and it has been way too long since our last clean sheet."
