MATCH PREVIEW - WYCOMBE WANDERERS (H)

29 April 2022

BURTON Albion take on Wycombe Wanderers in what is the last game of the 2021/22 season at the Pirelli Stadium tomorrow afternoon (12.30pm) kick-off.

FORM GUIDE

The Brewers come into the game off the back of a 2-0 defeat away at Doncaster Rovers, the first time the Brewers let in a goal in the last five outings.

Wycombe are currently on an 11-game unbeaten streak coming into the final game of the season. The Chairboys last result came in a narrow 1-0 victory over fellow play-off challenging Sheffield Wednesday.

HEAD 2 HEAD

Since the Brewers were promoted to the EFL, the sides have faced off a total of 13 times with Albion winning seven of these and Wycombe taking six.

This will be the third time the teams have come up against each other this season, with the most recent coming in a 2-1 loss for the Brewers at Adams Park. Albion got the better of Wycombe in the Papa John’s Trophy, however. An Aaron Amadi-Holloway hat-trick was the highlight in a 5-0 victory over the Chairboys.

BREWERS TEAM NEWS

There are no fresh injury concern for the Brewers heading into tomorrow’s match. Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has been back in training following an illness and will be available to face Wycombe tomorrow.

WYCOMBE WANDERERS TEAM NEWS

Manager of Wycombe Gareth Ainsworth says his side are relishing the final day of the season as the race for the play-offs go down to the wire.

“Everyone is smiling, and I am making it as normal of a week as I can as we’ve done 45 normal weeks and have been brilliant.

“If six teams are better than us with more than 83 points, then wow, what a season they had.”
