IT’S the Staffordshire derby at the Pirelli Stadium as the Brewers look to get three points against local rivals Port Vale.
Albion will be looking for revenge after bowing out of the FA Cup last season to Vale who went on to win promotion to League One via the play offs beating Mansfield at Wembley.
HEAD 2 HEAD
The Brewers have locked horns with Port Vale 13 times since we were promoted to the Football League in 2009 with the Valiants getting the better of us in those contests having recorded six wins to our four.
Albion fans won’t like being reminded of the 7-1 defeat at Vale Park in April 2013 when both clubs were looking for promotion from League Two, but Albion came undone against a rampant home side. The Brewers however got revenge in March 2016 with a 4-0 drubbing of the home side at Vale Park in League One
The referee will be Andy Haines. In the four games he has officiated this season, he has shown 12 yellow cards and two reds.
The assistant referees will be Christopher Ward and Wayne Grunnill, with Ed Duckworth as the fourth official.
Alfie Parr, aged six, and Charlotte Parr, aged six, are the mascots. If you want to be a mascot find out more here https://www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/fans/families/mascot-packages/
