On this date in 2012 the Brewers overcame Rochdale at the Pirelli Stadium. A crowd of 2,994 saw goals from Billy Kee and Calvin Zola put their side 2-1 up at half time. Rochdale equalised nine minutes into the second half, before Kee got his second goal 3 minutes later to secure all 3 points.

Brewers defender Shane Cansdell Sherriff doubled the lead in the 38th minute, scoring against his former side. The match was memorable for the fact that in it ended with snow falling quite heavily. So much snow fell after the game that Brewers defender Phil Edwards didn’t get home to Liverpool until midnight.

Lucas Akins after 34 and David Templeton a minute later, were followed by a second for Akins in the 45th minute. The second half was goalless as the majority of the 3,679 crowd went home happy with the three points.

The last time Albion were at home on Boxing Day was in 2019 when Tranmere Rovers were again the visitors in League One. Scott Fraser’s 12th minute goal was levelled before half time.
