Dino Maamria confirmed there were no further injuries picked up by the squad ahead of the Brewers second straight away game, taking on Sunderland tomorrow night.
The Brewers assistant manager also revealed that Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Louis Moult could return to the squad following their respective injuries. He did however confirm Ciaran Gilligan missed the squad’s trip to Ipswich through injury
“Hopefully Cameron will be ok for tomorrow, but we will have to wait and see, we will monitor that and see how he is tomorrow.”
“Louis Moult trained this morning and is also touch and go for the match tomorrow.”
“Ciaran will be out for around two or three weeks; we try and manage players like him because he can cover a lot of distance. He had a bit of a tight hamstring so he may be out for a few weeks.”
On tomorrow’s opposition, Dino spoke on what the appointment of Alex Neil can add to the Sunderland team, but insists his side are focussing solely on putting right Saturday’s result.
“They have some big players and big personalities that they have been missing such as McGeady and Gooch so maybe that has affected their recent performances.
“The new manager has obviously come in to give them an injection of energy and to organise them.
“Alex Neil is a very experienced manager, working at Premier League and Championship level and has done very well.
He will try his very best to turn them around, but tomorrow night all we are focussing on is us and how we can do better."
