BREWERS Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink gave an update on his squad ahead of tomorrow’s home match against Shrewsbury Town, as well as the signing of experienced midfielder Adelene Guedioura.
Hasselbaink confirmed that defender Deji Oshilaja and forward Louis Moult are available for selection after missing recent games through their respective injuries.
“Deji has trained with the squad and is ready for selection tomorrow, as is Louis Moult after training for the past couple of days.” Hasselbaink confirmed
“Ciaran Gilligan is still out; it will be another week or so until he is back available for selection.”
Speaking on the signing of Adelene Guediora, the Manager said it is a signing that the young players in the squad can learn from.
“I thought until the end of the season it would be very good for us and for the young players to learn one or two things from Adelene.
“I think it is important to put ourselves in a place where we have a few really good older professionals that are good guys and can help the young players in their journey and help to speed that up.”
“It is very important for our young players to see players like this, he is 36 but the way he carries himself and looks after his fitness is extremely good.”
Looking ahead to tomorrow’s opposition, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink admitted that the visitors are very difficult to break down and expects a tough task tomorrow.
“Many will look and say they are struggling, but they are a team that doesn’t get beat very easily," said Hasselbaink.
“They don’t lose by big numbers; they’ve drawn or only lost by one goal. They are very hard to break down and they are an organised unit.
"We do not underestimate anybody in this league, so we will not do this tomorrow against Shrewsbury just because of the position in the league. They are a tough side to play against.”
