WALK-IN VACCINES | UP TO 5,000 JABS EXPECTED ON SUNDAY

10 January 2022

BURTON Albion Vaccination Centre will be offering walk-in appointments this week on Thursday (January 13) and Sunday (January 16).

People will be able to get first, second or booster doses without appointments at the sessions with plenty of jabs available and up to 5,000 people expected on the Sunday.

The Thursday walk-in session runs from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.

The Sunday walk-in sessions are from 9am to 12.30pm and 1pm until 4.30pm for all those eligible for a Covid jab.

Those aged 12-17 can get a first or second dose – it must be 12 weeks after their first or 12 weeks after having covid to be eligible for a second jab.

For adults aged 18 plus to be eligible for a booster, it must be three months after their second vaccine.

Roy Burton, the Vaccination Centre coordinator for Burton Albion Community Trust, said: “We are looking to do up to 5,000 jabs on Sunday and we have the vaccines for boosters, first and second doses and Pfizer for under 18s.

“We would urge anyone eligible for a jab to come along and we can accommodate them.”
