BURTON Albion can confirm that striker Daniel Jebbison has been recalled from his loan deal by parent club Sheffield United.

The 18-year-old, who has represented England at U19 level, returns to Bramall Lane having scored nine goals in 23 games so far this season, including three in his last six.

Jebbison arrived on loan on the final day of the summer transfer window and quickly became a regular in manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's starting XI.

Hasselbaink admits he is disappointing to be losing Jebbison early, and that the young striker had made as big an impact off the pitch as on it for the Brewers.

"We're very disappointed as we didn't expect it, and we're obviously sorry to see him go," said Hasselbaink.

"He's one of those players that really lights up the place with his personality.

"He's been a real breath of fresh air and he's a big example for players coming in on loan to our club, and how good it can be for their development.

"It goes without saying but we wish him really well for the future."

Jebbison was keen to thank the supporters, as well as the staff and his teammates, for the time he has spent here.

"I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Burton Albion for my amazing time on loan at the club," he said.

"My special thanks go to the gaffer, all the staff and players who have helped me grow both as a person and as a player off and on the pitch - this is something I will be ever indebted to them for.

"Thanks to the amazing fans that have supported me week-in, week-out. I will always be grateful for your encouragement and be back to the stadium as a supporter from now on.

"I came to learn and I feel I'm going back to Sheffield United in a good place so, again, thank you.

"Good luck for the rest of the season, and see you soon in the stands. Up the Brewers!"

Best of luck for the future, Jebbo.
