DESIGN A FLAG AND HELP BACK THE BREWERS

29 July 2022

BURTON Albion is encouraging supporters to engage with the club on enhancing the Pirelli Stadium and coming up with newly designed Brewers banners.

Building on the fan flags and banners that are in permanent position in the Don Amott (West) Stand and the mural in the Raygar (North) Stand, the club is looking at more fan-led additions to the stadium.

The club’s community trust has met with supporters to look at ideas such as putting up pictures of memorable Brewers moments in the bars in the North and West Stands and in the Carling (South) Stand concourse.

And now the club is launching a design competition for up to 10 new flags that will have a permanent place in the Pirelli Stadium.

Supporters are being asked to come up with a design that celebrates what they think is great about supporting the Brewers.

Fans are reminded that the design must not infringe copyrights and must be all their own work but apart from that supporters have licence to be as creative as they wish.

A judging panel that will include Chairman Ben Robinson and club captain John Brayford will decide the best designs. They will then be turned into flags and be positioned around the ground.

Head of Community Matt Hancock said: “We know the fans love watching football at the Pirelli Stadium and we want them to play an active part in the way the ground looks.

“We are really looking forward to seeing how creative fans can be and what great designs they come up with.”

Flag designs should be 3:2 in ratio and designs should be sent to nigel.powlson@burtonalbionfc.co.uk by Friday, August 5. Please include your full name and contact details.
