CONTRACT NEWS | HEWLETT AND LATTY-FAIRWEATHER SIGN NEW DEALS

9 June 2022

BURTON Albion Academy graduates Tom Hewlett and Thierry Latty-Fairweather have signed new one-year contracts with the club.

Striker Hewlett spent the second half of last season with Redditch United in order to regain full fitness following a broken leg and ankle suffered in training 13 months prior to the move.

The highlight of Tom’s loan spell was arguably helping his side to safety in a 2-0 win against local rivals Stourbridge, scoring and being named man-of-the-match.

Full-back Latty-Fairweather had two spells out on loan last season. He spent the first half of the season at Grantham Town, before spending the second half of the season at Guiseley.

The highlight of Thierry’s loan was arguably his National League North debut for the Lions, scoring on his debut away at AFC Fylde.

Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said: “Both players are fit and athletic – we are happy to continue giving them an opportunity and hope they can continue their development at the club.

“We want them to showcase their potential and we will continue to keep an eye on them during pre-season - this may also lead to a loan-spell or two for them throughout the campaign.”
