ASCOT EVENT RAISES FUNDS FOR BURTON ALBION COMMUNITY TRUST

17 June 2022

NEARLY 100 people enjoyed all the race action from Ascot as they helped raise funds for Burton Albion Community Trust.

Race days are a popular part of the Burton Albion Events calendar and after the success of the club’s Cheltenham event earlier this year, the attention turned to Ascot Ladies Day.

Visitors enjoyed a welcome drink, a four-course meal and afternoon tea as well as a chance to put on their finery and enjoy a flutter.

The event was hosted by Reece Brown, with Steve Stretch bookmakers taking the bets and donating the profits to Burton Albion Community Trust which came to £756.99. In addition more than £1,300 in winnings was donated by generous punters in the room bringing the total to more than £2,000.

Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson: “Race days at the Pirelli Stadium are a greatly-enjoyed part of the Burton Albion Events diary,

“It gives people the chance to taste some delicious food, enjoy great company and have fun as they support our charity which does such a great job in the community.

“I want to thank everyone for attending and Steve Stretch Bookmakers for their kind support and everyone who donated their winnings on the day which was extremely generous.”

Burton Albion Community Trust Business Manager Stephanie White said: “It was a brilliant afternoon and the icing on the cake was the tremendous amount we were able to raise for the trust.

“Every penny will help us continue to deliver our wide range of programmes that have a direct benefit on the community.”
