CONTRACT NEWS | HAWKINS AND MOORE EXTEND CONTRACTS

20 June 2022

Burton Albion Academy graduates Callum Hawkins and Daniel Moore have signed new deals with the club.

Both goalkeepers have agreed to extend their stay at the club following valuable loan spells away from the club last season.

Hawkins signed his first professional contract back in 2018 and has since spent time on loan at Gresley and Mickleover, before spending a proportion of last season on loan at Leamington in the National League North where he kept five clean sheets in eleven games.

Moore first signed professionally in 2021, having been scouted by The Brewers during his time at previous club Bedworth United. He has also spent time on loan, teaming up with fellow Academy graduate Jakub Niemczyk, at Belper Town last season.

Head of Goalkeeping, Jake Kean said: “Callum and Dan really both deserve it.

“For Callum, he’s worked really hard ever since I’ve been here. We’ve seen noticeable improvements. He’s really knuckled down and he knows what he’s got to do to kick on again.

“Dan’s got all the attributes to go and make a great career; It’s up to him how far he wants to go.

“We had conversations last year and, much like Cal, he’s knuckled down and hopefully this season will be one for him to remember.

“Game time is massively important for both of them, more so for Cal than Dan.

“We need to keep Dan close as it’s important that he’s in and around the first team environment and gets that experience."
