BURTON Albion have been drawn in Northern Group H in this season’s Papa John’s Trophy alongside Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City.
The Brewers will play three group games in the competition, with the final team being one of eight Under 21 sides – Everton, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle or Wolves.
We will learn which Under 21 side we will play when the draw takes place on Thursday, which will also decide if we are home or away to Bradford and Sheffield Wednesday.
The Brewers will play the Under 21 team at the Pirelli Stadium.
In addition, the Carabao Cup First Round draw will also take place on Thursday.
Burton Albion will be in the North Section and will be ball no 8. Possible teams we could face include Stoke City, West Brom, Derby County and Sheffield United.
The League One fixtures for 2022-23 will be released at 9am on Thursday with the two cup draws following later in the day.
