BURTON Albion Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Davis Keillor-Dunn – who will officially join the Brewers on expiry of his contract at Oldham Athletic at the end of June.
Subject to league approval, the 24-year-old will sign a two-year contract with Albion, becoming manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s first signing of the summer.
Keillor-Dunn has flown out to Portugal to join up with his new teammates for the remainder of Albion’s pre-season training camp and could feature in Friday’s friendly against Hibernian.
He joined the Latics in the summer of 2020 after previous spells with Wrexham, Ross County and Falkirk.
The Sunderland-born attacking midfielder scored 17 goals in all competitions last season as John Sheridan’s side dropped out of the Football League after a difficult campaign.
“We’re happy to be signing Davis - he scores goals, gets assists and he’s especially done very well in the last year and a half, to two years,” said Hasselbaink.
“I think we needed a bit more creativity up the top end of the pitch, and we hope he can offer that for us.
“He can play all four positions up front, whether it’s wide or central. We know we can get him fitter and there’s still room for improvement with him.
“There was interest from elsewhere for his signature, but it’s a good start for our summer business to get this type of player.”
On signing for the Brewers, Keillor-Dunn said: “I’m delighted to get the deal over the line and to be signing for Burton Albion.
“Since hearing about the interest from the club and the manager it really excited me - I see it as somewhere I can really kick on and develop my football.
“I really enjoyed my time at Oldham and I’m very grateful to them for everything they have done for me.
“I feel that my time there has really improved me as a player and has allowed me to express what I can do on a football pitch.
“I believe that playing under the manager here will really suit me. He’s played at the top and that’s the experience I need to help develop my game. He has ambitions like myself, and I think he’ll push me onto that next level.
“I’m buzzing to be here and can’t wait to excite the Brewers fans!”
Welcome to the Pirelli Stadium, Davis!
