DONATIONS NEEDED FOR UKRAINIAN PEOPLE

3 March 2022

FOOTBALL Stands Together in support of the people of Ukraine and Burton Albion is asking fans to support a lorry heading to the border in Poland with vital aid.

Church Farm Tea Room, Hanbury Road, Anslow is taking in donations – which will be delivered to people in need.

Bridget Ainger, from the tearoom, said: “We have a neighbour who owns a recruiting company and four of her drivers are Ukrainian and they are heading back home. They have managed to get a lorry which will be driven to the Red Cross on the Poland/Ukraine border and we have offered our services at the tearoom to be a drop off point.

“We have already had businesses donate things and we are hoping more people will support this.”

Donations needed are things such as:

  • Nappies
  • Sanitary products
  • Medicines such as Calpol
  • Long life food
  • Colouring books/crayons for children

Please don’t donate clothes

A drop off point has been created to the left of the tearoom doors. You can donate between 9am and 5pm daily (10am to 4pm on Sunday). Donations are being accepted up until the end of Wednesday, March 9.
