BURTON Albion midfielder Ciaran Gilligan has been called up to a Republic of Ireland U20s squad for the first time.
The 20-year-old, who has previously featured for the U18s and was part of an U19s training camp last May, is part of a group being looked at who are eligible for the next U21s European Championship Qualification campaign.
The squad will play a friendly against an Ireland Amateur selection on Tuesday, March 22. U21s manager Jim Crawford will lead the U20s group, and Crawford has confirmed a number of U20s players will join the U21s for training ahead of their vital European Championship Qualifier with Sweden in Borås on March 29.
Congratulations on your call-up, Ciaran!
