BURTON ALBION COMMUNITY TRUST (BACT) is the charitable arm of Burton Albion Football Club that aims to create healthier, happier and stronger Communities in East Staffordshire and surrounding areas.

BACT engages with more than 7,000 people per week to raise aspirations and improve physical and mental health in the local community, with ages ranging from four years to 80-plus.

BACT aims to maximise all aspects of the participant’s journey, to allow programmes to continue to grow organically and make a greater impact on the local, regional and national agenda. To find out more about BACT, click HERE.

SAM’S SUPERHEROES is a local charity founded to create an ever-lasting legacy for 5-year-old Mickleoveryoungster Sam Liew who devastatingly passed away in May 2021, after a heroic 7-week fight battling nonstop seizures at QMC Nottingham from a "one-in-a-million" reaction to a common virus.

Despite no history of seizures or underlying conditions, Sam was rushed to hospital in March 2021, experiencing the first of a series of increasingly debilitating and ultimately catastrophic fits, named Febrile Infection Related Epilepsy Syndrome (F.I.R.E.S.). The Paediatric Critical Care team at QMC Nottingham fought so hard to save Sam's life but just seven weeks later, he died in his parent's arms from catastrophic brain damage.

As well as Sam's love for superheroes, the charity embodies his other loves and values. They fund and carry out emotional well-being therapeutic activities based around kindness and his love of animals, crafting, outdoors, music and nature, together with promoting awareness and research for childhood F.I.R.E.S.. They have their own Therapy Dog, a black Labrador called Daisy, who visits and works with local organisations and schools. To find more about Sam's Superheroes, click HERE.

A massive thank you to Raygar Architectural and Engineering Supplies Ltd who are the main event partner.

RAES is an independent supplier of ironmongery, tools and fixings based in Derby. The firm supplies both tradesmen associated to the construction industry as well as the public carrying out home improvements.

Raygar has just completed 26 years in business and still has the desire to grow and become even stronger and has expanded into the supply only or a supply-and-fit service of garage doors. The growth into the garage door market has continued far above the firm’s expectations with now over 250 forward orders. This has involved RAES having purchased a vehicle to transport them as well as a 40ft container just for the storage of the doors.
