BURTON Albion have been awarded "Family Excellence" status by the EFL - winning the award for the fourth consecutive possible year.
The club had previously been recognised in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and, following last year's pandemic-hit season where no fans were in attendance and no visits conducted, Burton Albion has again been awarded Family Excellence status in 2022.
The Pirelli Stadium was visited by assessors twice on matchdays over the 2021/22 season with the club's pre-match Family Zone, taking place on the 3G pitch at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre, particularly highlighted, as well as our helpful information on the club website and on social media being noted.
The club has also received feedback from the EFL assessors on how to further improve our offering to families attending matches at the Pirelli Stadium.
Head of Community Matt Hancock said: "It is fantastic that the club's efforts to further engage families and young supporters on matchdays have been recognised, and we are absolutely delighted to have received Family Excellence status for the fourth year in a row.
"All of the staff and volunteers at the club and at Burton Albion Community Trust have worked incredibly hard to improve our experience on matchdays for families, including our very popular Family Zone which takes place before each home game.
"We will also take on board all the feedback that the EFL's assessors have given us and we will be preparing over the summer to improve our matchday experience even further ahead of an exciting 2022/23 season.
"And of course, if any supporters have any feedback whatsoever to help us improve your experience on matchdays, then please do call the club on 01283 565938 or email email@example.com.
