BURTON Albion Chairman Ben Robinson has received his autumn flu and Covid boosters as the Pirelli Stadium Vaccination Centre reaches the 400,000 jabs landmark.
The autumn vaccination programme has already seen more than 25,000 people attend since mid September.
The centre is now well on course to reach 500,000 jabs before Christmas with the second anniversary of the first jab at the Pirelli Stadium being celebrated on December 16.
Ben Robinson said: “The BACT staff and volunteers working with the NHS continue to do a fantastic job and with the winter fast approaching and flu and Covid cases expected to be on the rise, I urge everyone to get jabbed as soon as they become eligible.”
All patients aged 50 and over are now eligible to receive the Covid and flu vaccinations, there are appointments available and you are invited to contact your GP Practice to book an appointment to attend the Pirelli Stadium.
All carers, health care staff, care home workers and anyone aged over 18 who is at risk or immunosuppressed or lives in a household with someone who is immunosuppressed are also eligible to receive their vaccinations.
The current priority is the 65+ age group.
Roy Burton, who is the Pirelli Stadium and Burton Albion Community Trust Care Co-Ordinator for the site, said: “We are now well past the 400,000 vaccines delivered at The Pirelli Stadium and by Christmas we will hit the incredible 500,000 figure.
“We are unable to offer general walk-ins currently as we are fully booked up with patients until mid-November. BACT works in conjunction with the area’s Primary Care Network/NHS to offer this service to all the people of East Staffordshire and we will be very busy going forward.”
