WOMEN'S FIRST TEAM | KRISTIAN GILBERT STEPS DOWN AS BURTON ALBION MANAGER

16 October 2022

KRISTIAN Gilbert has stepped down as Burton Albion's Women's First Team joint-manager.

Kristian, who has been in joint charge of the Brewers since October 2020 along with Tommy Booth, has made the difficult decision to step aside as a new teaching role has meant he is unable to commit the time required to the role of manager.

The team will continue to be managed by Tommy and his coaching staff.

"It's a decision I probably knew back in June, and Tommy has been aware of it since then," said Gilbert.

"But I wanted to support the club through pre-season and see if it was manageable in my first month of working, which unfortunately it hasn't been.

"I'm only going to get busier with exams coming up for students, and so I've made the difficult decision to step aside as I can't commit the time required for me to do the best possible job.

"I've absolutely loved my time at the club. I know better than anyone that things are in good hands with Tommy and we have a really good squad who have been fantastic on and off the pitch.

"I wish everyone at the club the best for the future."

Everyone at Burton Albion Football Club would like to thank Kristian for his time and effort at the club, and wishes him and his family all the very best for the future.

The Brewers first team are not playing this weekend due to our scheduled game against Crusaders being postponed.
