MATCH PREVIEW: DERBY COUNTY

10 August 2023

THE Brewers first home Sky Bet League One game of the season sees Derby County travel the short distance along the A38 for one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season.

The Brewers will be hoping to build on excellent home record against the Rams and record a first win of the season.

DID YOU KNOW?

With a capacity of 32.956 Derby’s home of Pride Park is the 16th largest football ground in England.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Brewers have played the Rams in six competitive fixtures with honours even with both teams having won two, drawn two and lost two. Albion haven’t been beaten in three games at home but have never won at Pride Park.

COLLECTION

BURTON Rotary Club will be holding a bucket collection at the Pirelli Stadium to raise money for good causes.

Fans of both clubs are being asked to bring along cash and make donations as they enter the turnstiles.

Andy Archer President of Burton Rotary Club said: “We want to thank Burton Albion and Chairman Ben Robinson for allowing us to hold the bucket collection at one of the biggest games of the season.

“We know how generous supporters of both clubs are and we hope as many people as possible will put some money in the buckets around the ground and help us support some brilliant good causes.”

Burton Rotary Club is a group of over 50 like-minded members who meet each week at the Pirelli Stadium and who support local and international communities by raising and donating thousands of pounds annually.

Good causes that Rotary has recently supported locally include: Burton Sea Scouts, Derek’s Tree, Red Lion Community Trust, Shropshire & Staffordshire Blood Bikes, Sinai Park House Trust, Winshill Community Centre and the YMCA Foodbank as well as national charities and international appeals such as support for Ukraine.

Burton Rotary Club also organises the annual Placard Parade at the Pirelli Stadium.
