BURTON Albion goalkeeper Callum Hawkins has suffered a ruptured ACL while out on loan at National League North side Leamington.
Hawkins, a graduate of the Brewers' Academy, was making his 27th appearance of the season for the Brakes in a league game against Blyth Spartans when he suffered the injury, rupturing his ACL as well as tearing both his lateral and medial menisci.
It has ruled the 23-year-old out for the season. In total, Hawkins had made 42 appearances over two spells with Leamington, keeping 15 clean sheets and becoming a very popular figure with the Brakes.
Hawkins will now return to Burton Albion to begin his rehabilitation. Everyone at the club wishes you a speedy recovery, Callum!
