BURTON Albion Football Club is delighted to confirm the loan signing of winger Charlie Kirk from Charlton Athletic for the remainder of the 2022/23 Sky Bet League One season.
A product of the Crewe Alexandra Academy system, Kirk helped his club secure promotion to League One in 2020 providing more assists than any other League Two player in that campaign
Charlton are reported to have paid £500,000 for Kirk in August 2021 to secure him on a long-term deal from Crewe.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackpool. He has made 26 appearances for Charlton this season scoring three times.
It is the second time in this transfer window that Dino Maamria has brought in a player from Charlton following the signing of goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray.
The Burton Albion manager said: "Charlie is a versatile attacking player, and he's a good age with loads of experience.
"We've got him to the end of the season - he'll bring us energy and quality in the attacking third and we're delighted to get him in."
Kirk said: "I'm really made up to get this over the line because I want to get my head down and play some football.
"I spoke to the gaffer and he outlined what he wanted from me, what I would want from him, and I'm delighted to get it all done.
"I know what I can do, hopefully the fans do too. I want to get goals and assists and get us up the table."
Welcome to Burton Albion, Charlie!
