EVERTON U21s have been drawn in Northern Group H alongside Burton Albion in the 2023/24 EFL Trophy.
The Brewers already knew two of their opponents in the four-team group having been placed alongside League Two clubs Mansfield Town and Doncaster Rovers yesterday.
This morning's draw on Sky Sports saw Premier League Everton's under 21 side added to the group. They will play all fixtures away from home.
As well as hosting Everton U21s the Brewers will host one more game at home, with dates and venues to be decided.
Dino Maamria said: "Everton have a well-established Academy set up and are well known for producing good players.
"Mansfield are managed by Nigel Clough and it will be brilliant to have his team down here or go to their place. Mansfield are a close neighbour and I have a good relationship with Nigel so it's going to be a good occasion for us both.
"Doncaster are signing some good players and will be very competitive this season.
"It will be a tough group but they should be good games."
The provisional EFL Trophy dates are:
September 5
October 10
November 14
All dates are subject to change.
