TERRY TAYLOR VISITS ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION SESSION

27 March 2023

BURTON Albion midfielder Terry Taylor visited one of Burton Albion Community Trust’s Primary Alternative Education sessions today.

Alternative Education is a programme operated by BACT to support children who are at risk of exclusion in school. The provision works with primary and secondary school pupils, with the aim of helping to improve confidence and self-esteem on their return to mainstream school.

Taylor, who is currently out with a long-term ankle injury sustained earlier in their season away at Fleetwood Town, was fully involved with several Easter themed activities during the appearance at the Community Trust Hub, Casey Lane.

The Wales under-21 international also signed autographs and posed for photos prior to leaving and was very complimentary of the work delivered by Burton Albion in the community.

“I’ve loved visiting the session today. The children were really great to meet. Some were slightly shy at the start, but once they got comfortable you could really see them express their interests and talents,” said Taylor.

“It’s been a wonderful way to spend my afternoon and it’s really important that as a squad and as a club we are visible out in the local community on a regular basis.”

BACT Alternative Education Coordinator Lisa Allen said: “Having Terry down here today has been amazing. Playing pool, chatting with the kids and easter egg hunting, he was brilliant. The children loved it and their huge smiles tell the full story.”
