KAMWA AND GILLIGAN ATTEND BACT WALKING FOOTBALL SESSION

18 October 2023

BURTON Albion first team stars Bobby Kamwa and Ciaran Gilligan played football at a slower pace at one of the Burton Albion Community Trust’s over-50 walking football sessions.

The Community Trust run numerous walking football events throughout the week aiming to keep men and women aged over 50 active and engaged in football. These sessions enable the participants to keep fit and active, build confidence, help with weight loss and have numerous social health benefits.

BACT currently have two teams representing the club in the Derbyshire Walking Football League and regularly compete in regional and national tournaments.

Both Kamwa and Gilligan got stuck in and thoroughly enjoyed an evening of walking football with the over 50’s. Kamwa even hit the crossbar with an audacious volley just before tucking the ball into the back of the net and scoring.

Brewers winger Bobby Kamwa said: “It’s so amazing to come down to these fantastic events and be able to join in. It’s great that the Trust are able to put on these events to keep people engaged with football and keeping active.”

BACT Community Coach Will Parker said: "Bobby and Ciaran were brilliant fun to have at our session. They both got fully involved in a different way of playing football and hopefully they took something out of it."
