MATCH PREVIEW: FLEETWOOD TOWN

21 September 2023

THE Brewers return to the Pirelli Stadium with a first home game for three weeks.

Fleetwood Town are the visitors on Saturday for this Sky Bet League One game which kicks off at 3pm.

Dino Maamria's team will be looking to make it back-to-back wins after the 3-2 victory at Port Vale on Tuesday night.

DID YOU KNOW?

As recently as 1997 Fleetwood (known then as Fleetwood Wanderers) were in Division One of the North West Counties League (the tenth tier of the football system). As recently as 2007/2008 Fleetwood were a Northern Premier League side – six years after the Brewers were promoted from that level.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

In the 20 meetings between the two clubs since 2012, there has only been one draw – in the FA Cup in 2013. Honours are very even with the Brewers winning ten of the encounters and Fleetwood winning nine times. Last season both clubs won the away fixture in Sky Bet League One.

HUSSEIN QUIG-DIOP

First team players will wear t-shirts honouring the young Burton Albion fan who died recently aged just 13 prior to Saturday's game against Fleetwood. Everyone present in the stadium is also invited to join in with a one-minute’s applause during the 13th minute of the game.
