DINO Maamria is looking to extend the Brewers unbeaten run to four games at Reading on Saturday.

After two wins and a draw the Albion squad have hit back after a difficult start to the season and find themselves above Reading in the table, albeit because of a points deduction.

Maamria said: “We take a lot of confidence from the last three performances and if there is a good time to go to Reading, it’s now, because we are in a good spot as a team.

“Reading won’t be an easy game as they are a top Championship club really and have some top, top players. We will have to go there and produce our best.

“I feel really sorry for Reading and the problems they are having because it’s a really good football club, with a brilliant fanbase. Every time I have been there I have felt good about that place and they have gone through a lot and it really makes us appreciate what our Chairman has done for this football club and what he has achieved.”

Maamria is looking for another good result but admits that he doesn’t set his squad points targets.

“I don’t put targets on groups of games we just take them one at a time. We have had to make a lot of adjustments due to the injuries we have had. I have had to rethink. As a coach you might be forced to re-evaluate and you can’t be stuck in your ways. You have to take yourself out of a situation and look at it with a fresh pair of eyes.

“Injuries are part and parcel of the game and I’m pleased with how the players have responded to the adjustments we have had to make because o fthose injuries.

“There are a lot of classroom meetings, video meetings and training modified from what it was at the start of the season. We clearly weren’t creating enough chances in the attacking third. We haven’t been asking enough questions of the opposition. The hardest thing in football is getting the ball through the attacking third. We have an honest bunch of lads but they need work and coaching as well to work through that.”

Joe Powell picked up a knock on Tuesday and is a doubt for Reading and adds to an injury last that also includes John Brayford, Jasper Moon and Cole Stockton.

Maamria said: “I’m hoping Joe will be fine but the other three will be out and they are three big players for us. Jasper it’s his ankle and it might be another couple of weeks minimum. John Brayford has a brace on and after an operation he will be out for a while.”
