BACT RECEIVES DONATION FROM LOCAL GOLF CLUB

10 April 2024

BURTON Albion Community Trust has received a donation of more than £3,200 from Broughton Heath Golf Club.

Representatives from the club attended the recent Burton Albion home game against Oxford United and handed over a cheque to BACT Chairman Phil Pusey and Interim Head of Community John Widdowson.

Broughton Heath Golf Club chose Burton Albion Community Trust as one of their 2023 Captain’s Charities and raised a total of £3,222.97 for the charity arm of the Brewers.

The golf club raised cash through a series of different events during the year such as a Charity Golf Days, a 100 Club, quizzes, raffles and auctions.

Broughton Heath hosted three Golf Days for BACT throughout last summer, as part of a Fun Golf League.

2023 Captain Pat Westwood also chose to use the Pirelli Stadium as the venue for the Golf Club Annual Dinner last month.

John Widdowson said: “I want to thank Broughton Heath Golf Club and Pat Westwood for this great donation.

“A lot of time and effort has gone into raising this money and the Golf Days were brilliant events that were well supported.

“All donations like this go towards supporting our diverse range of programmes that help us make an impact on the lives of more than 14,000 participants in our projects.

“We are always delighted to receive donations and to partner with clubs and organisations that want to support our work.”
