25 January 2024

BURTON Albion has completed the signing of highly rated striker Ademola Ola-Adebomi on loan from Crystal Palace until the end of the season.

Affectionately named 'Mola’, the 20-year-old has scored 12 goals in twenty-one appearances (all competitions) for The Eagle’s Under 21’s this season.

A prolific goal scorer at youth level, Ola-Adebomi scooped the Premier League 2 player of the month award for November following his hat-trick against Leeds United. He also netted his first senior goal against Stevenage in the Bristol Street Motors in the process.

Having joined Palace aged eight in 2012 and has repeatedly progressed through the age groups, raising his profile during with his performances in the 21/22 season as he netted 19 goals.

He earned a place in the 2022/23 pre-season first team squad which travelled to Australia and Sinagpore, and has featured on the bench three times this season for Roy Hodgson’s side, twice away at Manchester United and once away at Manchester City.

On signing for the Brewers, Ademola said: “There’s been a lot of interest from clubs abroad and in League One and Two, but coming to Burton just felt right.

“I met with the manager and got to visit the training facilities and the stadium, which were all amazing.

“I was very excited by what the Gaffer had to say to me and I really think that he can help me to develop, especially being a former Premier League striker himself.

“I’ve been made to feel really welcome, and I can’t wait to get started!”

Brewers boss Martin Paterson said: “We’re really happy that we’ve managed to fight off competition to get this signing over the line and we’re grateful to Crystal Palace for trusting us with one of their top talents.

“We’re confident that Ademola can come in and replicate the form and performances that he’s shown at U21s level. He’s a talented boy and we think he can really add extra quality to our attacking area of the pitch.

“He’s 6ft,4” and despite being big in stature, he’s technically really good and is a real threat in the area. We’re looking forward to developing him on the training pitch and seeing him in a Burton Albion shirt.”

Ademola will wear the number 20 shirt. Welcome to Burton Albion!
