BREWERS SIGN STRIKER KYLE HUDLIN ON LOAN

31 January 2024

BURTON Albion has signed striker Kyle Hudlin on loan from Huddersfield Town until the end of the season.

The 6ft 9in striker joins the Brewers to become the club's fifth signing of the January transfer window, having made 10 appearances in the Championship this season for the Terriers.

Hudlin began his career in the midland football league with Castle Vale Town, Boldmere sports, Social Falcons and finally Solihull United, before penning a deal with Solihull Moors in 2022. He scored 13 goals during his two year spell with the Moors, earning a deal with Championship outfit Huddersfield Town.

A loan move to AFC Wimbledon followed at the start of last season where Hudlin netted four times in 18 games for the Dons before being recalled in January 2023.

A strong pre-season earned him his first competitive match, coming on and scoring as a substitute against Middlesborough in the Carabao Cup.

On signing for the Brewers, Hudlin said: "it feels amazing and it's good to get it over the line and I'm ready to kick on now and get going.

"I spoke to the gaffer on the phone yesterday and he really sold it to me. He understood me as a player which was very important. He has a direct philosophy that he's trying to instil and he felt that I met the criteria and ultimately I don't want to disappoint him and get going from there."

Brewers manager Martin Paterson, said: "We're delighted to get Kyle over the line and get him in the building.

"He is an exciting player who I am confident will help this team improve.

"He knows why he is coming and is determined to showcase his quality.

"My job is to give him the platform and coaching to improve as a player and person."

Hudlin will wear the number 15 shirt. Welcome to the club, Kyle!
