BREWERS MOURN PASSING OF LIFELONG SUPPORTER PETER THOMAS

21 March 2024

BURTON Albion is saddened to learn of the passing of lifelong supporter Peter Thomas.

The Season Ticket Holder, who started following his beloved Brewers as a young man during the club’s Wellington Street days, sadly passed on March 4, aged 79.

Peter followed Albion’s move to Eton Park and went on to be appointed as the Chairman of the Supporters' Club in 1991, where he resided in this seat for a number of years.

His commitment to the club in steering the Supporters' Club and raising funds led to him being presented with the Burton Albion Award for Service and Support during the 2016/2017 season.

He worked at Burton Hospital for 32 years and went on to enjoy his retirement years with wife Barbara.

Peter had an outstanding collection of Burton Albion memorabilia and also has a family brick in the wall at the Pirelli Stadium.

Pete’s love for the club will live on through his family.

His funeral will take place on Friday 5th April, service 1.30pm at the Albion Suite, Pirelli Stadium, followed by a private family committal at Bretby Crematorium.

Please feel free to wear yellow and black in Pete's memory.

Family flowers only please, donations made payable to 'Burton Albion Community Trust' and 'British Heart Foundation' may be made at the service.

All enquiries to Murray's Funeral Directors, 23 York Street, Burton, DE14 2LX. Tel: 01283 562299.
