THE Pirelli Stadium Vaccination Centre is gearing up for the Spring Covid booster programme with more than 11,000 people expected to receive jabs.
The centre will be open from Thursday to Sunday throughout May and the start of June, but the jabs will only be available to those aged 75 and over or those aged over six months who are immunosuppressed. These groups will be contacted by their GP practice and invited to make an appointment.
Roy Burton, BACT’s Community Care Co-ordinator for the Vaccination Centre, said: “We will again be delivering this service for the NHS and the area Primary Care Network and we will be calling on the brilliant volunteers again to help us deliver the jabs.
“Many of our volunteers have been with us for four years now and without their support we would be unable to continue this incredible service.”
Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson said: “The Vaccination Centre has always demonstrated how important the club and trust are in supporting the local community and we are delighted to be able to continue to offer this service and help protect vulnerable people."
