Dan Robinson

Academy Management Team


Dan re-joined joined Burton Albion as Academy Manager during the 2016/17 season following the departure of Mike Whitlow the previous summer.

He oversees all age groups below the first-team with the ultimate goal of developing players for the first-team squad.

He had previously played for the club as a goalkeeper before embarking on a career in New Zealand in early 2005. During his 12-year-stay there, Robinson won a number of league titles and even went to the Club World Championships in 2008.

Robinson held numerous roles in New Zealand. He was a Football Development Officer at regional level and a Goalkeeping Coach for the New Zealand under 20s women’s team before becoming the Goalkeeping Coach for the New Zealand women’s team and later the assistant coach.

Robinson coached at the 2010 under 20s Women’s World Cup in Germany, the 2012 London Olympics, the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada and the 2016 Rio Olympics.
