CENTRE-HALF Sam Hughes returned for a second loan spell with the Brewers in the summer of 2021 - a move which would be made permanent the following January.
Having come through the academy at Chester in 2015 he became a regular in their defence and was one of their youngest captains before earning a move to Premier League Leicester City, joining up with the Foxes Development Squad in 2017.
Sam made his EFL debut during a loan spell with League Two side Salford City in 2019 going on to make eight appearances for the Ammies.
Sam made a big impression on everyone at the Pirelli Stadium in his first loan spell prior to a season-ending knee injury suffered in December - but returned to the Brewers in November 2021, again on loan prior to signing on a permanent basis in January.
