BURTON Albion’s final business of the 2021 summer transfer window saw Charlie arrive on a three-year deal from Championship side Birmingham City after 13 years at St Andrews.
Joining the Blues at the age of nine after starting at Walsall, Charlie progressed through the ranks signing a scholarship in 2015 and a first professional deal with City in 2017.
Charlie’s debut came against Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup in 2018 and the following season saw him make 10 Championship appearances. After appearing in the EFL Cup at the start of 2019-20 Charlie headed on a season-long loan spell with League Two Stevenage scoring his first senior goals whilst at the Lamex.
The 2020/21 season saw Charlie head to Ross County in the Scottish Premier League, establishing himself as a regular for the Staggies and winning their Young Player Of The Year award, returning to St Andrews before his permanent move to the Brewers.
