Ben Turner

Date of birth

193 cm

Ben became the first new signing of summer 2016 when he joined Albion after his release from Cardiff City where he had spent the previous five seasons.

Originally coming through the Coventry City Academy Ben made his debut against Stoke City in August 2006 as an 18 year old before heading out on loan to Peterborough United.

A short spell at Oldham Athletic on loan preceded him establishing himself in the Sky Blues team for whom he went on to make 84 appearances scoring four times from his role at centre back.

A £750,000 move to Cardiff City took Ben away from his native Midlands base and whilst at the Cardiff City Stadium he scored a goal against Liverpool in the League Cup Final and helped the Bluebirds to promotion to the Premier League racking up 31 Premier League appearances during the 13/14 campaign.

Injury meant that Ben missed most of the 14/15 season and his return to fitness last season was helped by a loan spell at former club Coventry City.

Upon his release Nigel Clough moved swiftly to make Ben a part of the Brewers defence for the coming season.

In his first season for the club he made 39 appearances scoring one goal in the final game of the season against Reading.
