A popular member of the Brewers squad, Damien is currently the longest serving member of the squad, 2018/19 seeing him in his seventh season with the club after signing in the summer of 2012 from Dagenham & Redbridge.

Damien is another former League Two promotion winner to repeat the feat with Albion having a key part of the Daggers squad that achieved promotion to League One via the Play-Offs before being released when the East Londoners were relegated back to the fourth tier.

A regular member of the Brewers side in his first two seasons with the club injury deprived him of another Play-Off Final appearance but he returned in spectacular fashion to smash home the goal of the season within five minutes of his return to action in October 2014 and re-established himself as a key part of the defence that helped secure back to back promotion for Albion.

Damien originally started his career in the Championship with Plymouth Argyle as a left sided midfielder with loan spells at both Port Vale and Grimsby Town providing experienced for the young midfielder. Damien rejected a permanent move to Blundell Park when Dagenham & Redbridge tabled a five-figure bid for his services and he proved a popular and successful member of the side converting to left back under the tutelage of John Still.

Damien has also represented Republic of Ireland at under-18 and 19 levels and was Albion's Players Player Of The Season in 2013/14. Damien spent the first of the current season on loan at League One side Portsmouth but signed a new one-year deal in the summer to extend his stay at the Pirelli Stadium.
