Martin Taylor began his career as a youth at Mile Oak Rovers before he turned professional with Derby County in 1986.
He went on to make nearly 100 appearances for the Rams, although his 11 year spell at the Baseball Ground did see loan spells with Carlisle, Scunthorpe, Crewe and Wycombe.
In 1997 the former goalkeeper made his loan move to Wycombe permanent and went on to make over 230 appearances for the Chairboys. He was then loaned out to Barnsley where he made just three appearances.
After his spell at Barnsley, Taylor moved into non-league to play for Telford United in 2003 before he joined the Brewers in 2004. He became part of Nigel Clough’s coaching staff at Eton Park.
Taylor was also part of Clough’s coaching staff at Derby County and Sheffield United.
