INDIANA Vassilev signed for the Brewers in September 2020 on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Aston Villa.
Vassilev, who was born in the state of Georgia, has represented the United States at U17, U18 and U20 level while plying his trade for Villa's U23 side, for whom he scored six goals last season.
The 19-year-old became the second-youngest American to play in the Premier League earlier this year, making his top-flight debut for the Villans in a 1-1 draw away at Brighton and Hove Albion, making four league appearances for the senior side by season's end, including games against Liverpool and Manchester United.
Vassilev also featured in Villa's run to the Carabao Cup final - making an appearance against Leicester City in the semi-finals.
