Lucas Akins joined the club in League Two in the summer of 2014 and has been a popular figure with the fans ever since. Akins is known for his sheer pace and strength as well as his versatility.

Lucas was signed back in 2014 on an undisclosed fee after Stevenage had been relegated from League One.

Huddersfield born and bred, Lucas made his debut for his hometown club in April 2007. After leaving there he had a spell in Scotland with both Hamilton Academical and Partick Thistle led to a move back to English football with Tranmere Rovers.

He only spent the two years at Stevenage but scored 13 goals in 77 games.

After joining Albion under Gary Rowett, Lucas has currently scored 27 goals in 115 games. He has seen the club go from League Two to the Championship something he could never have imagined when he signed.

In his debut Championship season he scored five goals for the club and signed a two year deal at the start of the campaign. He featured in many positions in the Championship season from wing-back to winger, to striker.
