Marvin joined the Brewers from Coventry City in early January 2017. Sordell an England youth international as well as featuring for the Team GB Football team at Olympics 2012.

Sordell started his youth career at Watford and made his professional debut in 2009 coming off the bench in a defeat to Sheffield United. 

Ten days later he scored his first goal for the club against Leeds United and went onto score 27 goals in a 81 game spell.

Premier League side Bolton paid £3million pounds for Sordell in January 2012 and made his debut away to Norwich City in the February. 

Bolton were relegated in 2012 and Sordell became a regular in the Championship side and scored in eight goals in 26 appearances at a time where Dougie Freedman said Sordell was suffering with homesickness.

Due to this Sordell joined Charlton Athletic on a season long loan and scored eight goals in 35 appearances.

Sordell returned to the Premier League when Burnley manager Sean Dyche a former teammate of his at Watford joined newly promoted Burnley.

Sordell's time at Turf Moor only lasted a year and he agreed a mutual termination in September 2015.

Following that he signed a year deal with Colchester and then joined Coventry City after that where he played for a half a season before joining the Brewers.

Sordell managed to score 4 goals in 19 fixtures for the Brewers and put in a good contribution to the Championship survival.
