CALLUM Hawkins signed his first professional contract during the summer of 2018, after excelling in the Burton Academy and developing into a very reliable and promising keeper.
Hawkins made great progress under the watchful eye of Academy manager Dan Robinson, a former goalkeeper himself, and enjoyed a taste of senior football during an extended spell with local non-league side Gresley FC during 2017.
It was at the Moat Ground that he became a popular member of the Gresley squad due to some commanding performances, becoming Albion’s Scholar Of The Year Award at the end of the 2017-18 season awards.
Callum completed a loan spell at Mickleover Sports between December 2018 and February 2019, before then-manager Nigel Clough took up the option to extend his deal with the Brewers to the end of the 2019-20 season.
Hawkins suffered a knee injury early on in that season and subsequently extended his stay at the club until the summer of 2021, signing a new contract.
