John-Joe O'Toole

Date of birth

Republic of Ireland

John-Joe was a product of the Watford youth development system, making his break-through into the Watford side in 2007 after signing a one-year deal in the autumn of that year.

Loan spells at Wealdstone, Sheffield United and Colchester United during his time at the Hornets eventually resulted in a permanent move to the U’s on the 1st January 2010. A further extension in 2012 saw him sign with the club until 2014, but a loan spell at Bristol Rovers eventually saw him move to the Memorial Stadium and former Colchester United manager John Ward. Rovers relegation to the Conference at the end of the 2013-14 season saw John-Joe become a free agent, and he was picked up by Northampton Town, where he proceeded to make 173 appearances, scoring 33 goals in the process. He became a free agent once again at the end of the 2018-19 season and was signed by Nigel Clough at Burton Albion on a two-year deal.
