LONDON-born Deji is a versatile defender and midfielder who began his football career in the Cardiff City academy as a 16-year-old in 2009.

After earning a first professional contract in 2012 and making his Bluebirds debut in the League Cup in August that year, Deji signed a new deal in South Wales before heading out on loan to neighbours Newport County and Sheffield Wednesday during the 2013-14 campaign.

A six-month loan deal to AFC Wimbledon was the prelude to three spells on loan at Gillingham before returning to sign a permanent deal with AFC Wimbledon in the summer of 2017. Deji made a real impression at Kingsmeadow and was appointed captain for the 2018-19 season with the Wombles.

After leaving Wimbledon Deji stayed in League One with a move to fellow London side Charlton Athletic making 42 EFL appearances for the Addicks over his two seasons at The Valley.

Former Charlton striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was quick to bring Deji’s versatility to the Pirelli Stadium in the summer of 2021.
