Originally signing for the Brewers on loan in January 2020 from then-Championship club Leeds United, Conor Shaughnessy rejoined Burton Albion on a permanent basis in the summer of 2021.
The versatile defender/midfielder can hold a host of different positions. From playing across anywhere in the back four, as well as in a holding midfield role, Shaughnessy brings both cover and a good starting option.
Starting his career at Reading, the Irishman moved to Leeds United and made appearances with their under-23 outfit before moving on loan to Hearts in the Scottish Premiership during the 2018-19 season.
A return to England saw him move out on loan in the summer of 2019 to League Two side Mansfield Town, before returning to parent club Leeds in the winter of that campaign. From here, Shaughnessy made that loan move to the Pirelli Stadium prior to the season being curtailed, before joining Rochdale in January 2021.
